So that's what they are! I thought it was a pineapple sculpture in the portal because of the position of the plant at the back, left side ;)

Very clever sculpture and unusual - hadn't realised ti was horseshoes. Like the pear shape.
I think it's supposed to be a pear? Funny, I never saw the pineapple thing about it before, but now that you mention it it's quite obvious.
